Waukesha County's Parks System is looking to hire a seasonal Parks Technician based out of our County Grounds Service Center to perform manual labor in the construction and maintenance of parks, golf courses and designated buildings, grounds, and equipment
Expected to work up to 40 hours weekly to include some evenings, weekends, and overnight hours; as well as special events and holidays. Other weekday hours are flexible.
Example of Duties
- Cleans and maintains park buildings, grounds, golf courses, ice arenas, nature center, exposition center, other structures and areas used by the public.
- Participates in the construction, remodeling, and repair of park system structures. Performs preventive maintenance on equipment, facilities, and grounds.
- Installs and constructs signs, barbecue grills, picnic tables, and other park system equipment.
- Mows grass, plants and trims trees and shrubs, performs irrigation, trail grooming, and other work in the development and maintenance of grounds.
- Operates equipment such as chain saws, mowers, tractors, sprayers, and trucks in the performance of park system maintenance work.
- Operates equipment for snow removal, sanding, and deicing operations.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with the staff and the public.
- Ability to contribute to a positive work culture that fosters excellent customer service and teamwork.
- Interact frequently with the public providing services, assistance, and enforcing all park rules and regulations.
- Keeps records and creates reports.
- Performs other duties as required.
