Description

Waukesha County Airport is looking to hire up to 20 temporary, part-time workers to perform snow / de-icing duties and other related grounds maintenance work.

• 2024 hourly rate up to $21.97 dependent upon qualifications; 2025 rates pending (3% increase over 2024)
• This position requires the ability to work in all weather conditions.

Example of Duties

Inspects, maintains, and operates daily assigned equipment to ensure continued safe and efficient operation of the airport.

May be called upon at any time to respond to emergency situations such as : snowstorms, windstorms, flooding, accidents, fires.

Establishes and maintains effective working and public relations with coworkers, airport users, service providers, the public, vendors, and outside agencies.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Essential Knowledge and Abilities

Ability to operate a variety of trucks and equipment necessary for airport grounds maintenance.

Ability to perform moderate to heavy manual labor for extended periods under variable weather conditions.

Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working and public relations with co-workers, the public, vendors and outside agencies.

Ability to effectively interact with sensitivity with persons from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial, ethnic, and professional backgrounds, and persons of all ages and lifestyles.

Ability to respond at any time to emergency situations such as : snowstorms, windstorms, flooding, traffic accidents, and fires.

You must meet these minimum Training and Experience requirements :

Valid driver's license.

Possess mechanical aptitude.

Work experience in airport and / or other facility's grounds maintenance, and the operation of a variety of related trucks and equipment, is highly desirable.

Possession of a valid Wisconsin Class A Commercial Driver's License is highly desirable.

This position requires the ability to work in all weather conditions.
