Overview
The Public Housing Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing public housing programs and properties. This position requires a strong understanding of property management, fair housing regulations, strong organizational skills, ability to work well with others, and excellent conflict resolutions skills
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of public housing properties, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.
- Oversee tenant relations, addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, and facilitating communication between residents and management.
- Conduct regular inspections of properties to ensure maintenance standards are met and coordinate necessary repairs or improvements.
- Implement and monitor compliance with Fair Housing regulations and policies to promote equitable treatment of all residents.
- Tracking of occupancy and relaying information
- Develop and maintain relationships with local agencies, community organizations
- Lease enforcement including understanding of proper notices to serve
- Intake processing- determine eligibility of applicants via mail and telephone
- Coordination of move in and move outs
- Prepare security deposit payments/billings
- supervises/oversees assistant public housing manager
- acts as hearing officer for information discussion of tenant disputes
- Review month AR reports to initiate pay/quit notices
- Work with attorney for lease violations/evictions, appear in court as needed
- Process interim rent changes and annual re-certifications
Qualifications
- Understanding of property management is helpful
- Familiarity with Fair Housing regulations, and Housing programs highly desirable.
- Background in social work or related disciplines is a plus
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to mediate conflicts effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
- EXCELLENT ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS REQUIRED

Pay: $44,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
