Customer Service (Internship-Summer 2025)
ROLE:
This internship will assist in supporting customer interactions, focusing on electronic data interchange (EDI) order entry and processing. This position assists in ensuring accurate and timely handling of customer orders, assists in resolving issues efficiently, and assists in collaborating with internal teams to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Order entry and processing support:
- Assist in managing customer orders through EDI systems, ensuring accuracy in product details, quantities, and delivery schedules.
- Including lead time and capacity utilization.
- Assist in verifying incoming orders for completeness and assist in resolving discrepancies by coordinating with customers and internal teams.
- Assist in monitoring order status, providing updates to customers and addressing any changes or delays.
- Assist in managing customer orders through EDI systems, ensuring accuracy in product details, quantities, and delivery schedules.
- System reporting, cross-functional collaboration:
- Assist in maintaining accurate records of orders, customer interactions, and assist in issuing resolutions using ERP and EDI systems.
- Assist in generating daily reports on order status, backlogs, and shipping schedules for internal use.
- Assist in working closely with production, shipping, and quality teams to align order requirements with manufacturing schedules.
- Assist in communicating customer needs and priorities to ensure on-time delivery and product quality.
- Aid and assist the customer service team on confirming orders, lead times, and product availability to enhance customer fulfillment.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Pursuing a degree in supply chain or business preferred.
- Previous job or internship experience in related field preferred.
- Be enrolled in a post-high school education for the Fall 2025 semester.
- Minimum of 1 completed year in related field (preferred).
- Be considered a full-time student (12 credits or more).
- Be 18 years or older.
- Ability to work as part of team as well as solo projects with minimal guidance.
- Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to quickly identify and resolve order and system related issues.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Collaborative mindset to work effectively across departments.
