- Translate documents accurately
- Interpret for parents at meetings/conferences, IEP meetings, etc.
- Collaborate and communicate with parents and teachers
- Develop positive home/school relationship
- Provide academic support for ML students in classrooms, 1-on-1, or in small groups
ESSENTIAL TASKS:

- Develop rapport and maintain positive interactions with students and other stakeholders
- Assist students in developing basic literacy, numeracy, and self-care skills
- Assist teacher with all aspects of instructional operations and strategies
- Work independently with students both in small and large group settings
- Must be physically fit and mobile as position may require the aide to bend, stoop, and spend long periods of time on the floor.
- Skilled at motivating students, monitoring student activity, and maintain student engagement in the appropriate task
- Operate computer software, electronics, and devices used for instruction and related programs.
- Maintain confidentiality
- Provide student supervision as assigned
- Perform other duties as assigned
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Experience, Training, and Licensure
- Post-secondary education or be willing to complete course work to fulfill DPI Title 1 requirements
- Fluent in Spanish (speaking, writing) and a strong understanding of the second language
- Basic technology skills or ability to learn and use electronic devices and programs
- Has excellent behavior management skills to maintain classroom discipline
- Ability to communicate with school staff and students
- Organizational skills
- Ability to problem-solve
- Capacity to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to take and follow directions and also work independently
- Capability and willingness to be a team player and develop interpersonal relationships while maintaining a professional demeanor
