Wausau Chemical Corporation is now hiring a Chemical Lab Quality Technician.

What You’ll Do:
- Work in a chemical laboratory, supporting the Chemist and Quality Manager in maintaining compliance and quality standards.
- Conduct sample testing, including titrations, temperature, pH, specific gravity, color, and percentage of active ingredients.
- Maintain accurate digital documentation, including batch sheet logging, retain sample spreadsheets, and Certificates of Analysis.
- Utilize PPE (personal protective equipment) as required for handling specific chemicals.
Physical Requirements:
- Organize and store sample bins on racks, rotate samples, and dispose of outdated materials.
- Stock sample bottles on the plant floor and assist with general movement throughout the facility.

This position reports directly to the Quality Manager. The Lab Technician is responsible for receiving samples from the Production Team and conducting Quality Assurance (QA) testing, documentation, and storage while ensuring compliance with Chemical and Hazardous Materials Safety standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Receive chemical product samples for QA testing.
- Perform tests for temperature, pH, specific gravity, color, and % active.
- Record QA test results on batch sheets.
- Store tested samples in retain bins by date and label bins accordingly.
- Maintain and update the 'Retain Samples' spreadsheet with bin contents.
- Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment in proper working condition.
- Support revisions of formulas and batch sheets.
- Generate and distribute Certificates of Analysis.
- Use a respirator as required for certain products.
- Notify the Quality Control Manager or Quality Control Chemist of any samples that fail to meet specified testing ranges.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Assist in inspecting high-risk customer orders.
- File batch sheets in the office by date.
- Rotate retain bins and properly dispose of outdated samples.
- Restock sample bottles on the production floor for the Production Team.
- Assist with lab documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Control Manager.
