We are a team oriented organization that supervises and carry's out activities with school age children in the Wausau Schools during our program hours. This position can be full time or part time depending on your availability. Hours are ideal for college students who are interested in a job that can work with school schedules.
Before and After School Program Hours (Work AMs, PMs, or Both)
- Mondays - Fridays
- 6:15 am - 8:30 am
- 3 pm - 5:30 pm
- Availability for extra hours during school breaks

Duties and Responsibilities
Both Assistant Child Care Teachers and Lead Teachers are responsible for the children’s well-being while under their care and maintaining a safe and fun environment for the children while making sure the children interact with each other in an appropriate manner.
- Organizing activities for school aged children
- Developing a schedule for the children to maintain
- Keeping records of each child’s progress, interests and any problems that may occur
- Maintaining contact with the children’s parents and contacting them in the case of an emergency
- Cleaning interactive areas
- Encouraging of independence and self-help with children
- Keeping information regarding children, families, staff, and the company confidential
- Must keep current with required continuing education on a yearly basis
Skills and Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older (lead child care teacher)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Early Childhood Education (preferred but not required)
- Valid CPR and First Aid certifications (preferred but not required)
- Caring and compassionate attitude when interacting with and caring for children
- Strong verbal communication and listening skills to converse with children, fellow professional caregivers and parents or guardians
- Excellent patience and stamina for keeping up with the demands of children of all ages
- Advanced multitasking and organizational skills to handle multiple children at a time
- Behavioral analysis and cognitive recognition abilities for anticipating and addressing potential interactions or issues
- Displays a positive attitude with the children, families, and staff
