Synopsis:
Position Summary: The Buyer executes the procurement of goods and services in accordance with company policies and procedures, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectiveness. The Buyer will manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and monitor market trends to support the company's operational needs and contribute to its financial performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Order Processing - Process purchase requests and update management on the status of orders.
- Order Maintenance - Manage quantity adjustments, delivery date changes, price changes, line and quantity changes, scope changes, and supplier information updates.
- Supplier Relations - Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate for the highest quality products and best pricing.
- Negotiation - Negotiate prices, contract terms, and delivery schedules to ensure the best deals for the company.
- Inventory Management - Manage inventory levels and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Innovation and Continuous Improvement - Identify innovative opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the procurement and supply chain processes. Identify and leverage innovation in the supply base to improve our speed, capacity, and quality.
Specific Skills, Licensure and Certifications
- Experience managing contracts with suppliers to ensure compliance and favorable terms.
- Ability to identify opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Experience analyzing data to forecast demand and manage inventory levels.
- Knowledge and experience with Procurement applications (e.g. RFx, eAuction, P2P).
- Experience in specialty manufacturing, paper, labels, and associated industry is a plus.
- Proven track record of leading sourcing and contracting initiatives.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and time-management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Takes initiative and can effectively organize and prioritize a wide array of initiatives.
- Ability to adapt quickly in a changing environment.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, supply chain, or operations preferred. May accept an associate degree combined with relevant experience or non-degree with significant experience (7 years) in procurement, strategic sourcing, and/or manufacturing.
