We are hiring a Structure Designer, where you will work closely with Builders customer orders, Sales Support and the Operations team to create essential detailed blue prints and specifications for production and field support of Residential and Light Commercial Buildings. This position requires a strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and structural analysis to ensure the integrity and durability of the designs. Ultimately, your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and quality of the manufacturing process, leading to successful project outcomes and satisfied clients.
Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of a Structural Designer 2 or 3:
- Generate 3D project models in our production integrated design software
- Roof / Floor and Truss framing design and placement diagrams
- Create additional production and assembly documents, such as wall panel and truss elevations, bottom plate views, rake assembly list, ship loose framing material lists and other cutting documents
Minimum Qualifications:
Basic design of residential construction and materials:
- General construction knowledge
- Ability to read and understand plans/blueprints
- Familiar with residential building codes
- Understanding of exterior & interior materials used in a home and when to use them throughout the construction process
- Common framing practices
- Residential design knowledge
- Three-dimensional visualization
Education:
- 1 -2-year residential design or architectural engineering degree
- Up to one year of framing experience
- Experience and/or education or equivalent combination of both
Skills:
- CAD – residential or architectural Computer aided design software knowledge, MiTek a plus
- Microsoft Office Suite Programs

- Effective written and oral communication
- Must have the ability to review and solve problems
- Ability to handle multiple projects while staying focused and organized
