The HR Business Partner (HRBP) position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. HRBP will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
- Ensure a smooth onboarding process for new hires, including necessary documentation, orientation, and integration into the company culture
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications
- Consults with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate
- Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to recruiting, such as time-to-fill, cost-per-hire and candidate quality, and provide regular reports to leadership
- Assists with resolving complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required
- Supports day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
- Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
- Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation
- Develop offers for new hires, promotions and transfers
- Provides guidance and input on workforce planning and succession planning
- Identifies training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs
- Participate in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up ensure training objectives are met
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues
- 3 years of experience in talent acquisition preferred
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment
