Job Summary:
Job functions and job duties will be primarily driven by work order requests, regularly scheduled and assigned preventative maintenance-related duties and emergency repairs. Responsibilities will include communicating problems; providing maintenance and repair services as assigned; trouble shoot malfunctioning machinery and equipment; and accurately record and submit time-keeping and work order related paperwork.
Individual will work on a variety of machinery and equipment including: forklifts, cranes, motor vehicles and other production-related machines and equipment as needed. Typical Repair & Maintenance Responsibilities include both Preventative Maintenance and Repair Maintenance Activities.
Preventative Maintenance includes activities such as changing oil, greasing, cleaning and inspection, making regular/prescribed adjustments, assisting with equipment overhauls, etc. Repair Maintenance Activities includes items such as parts replacement, parts fabrication/modification, trouble shooting, upgrades, etc. as required by production demands throughout the shift. Occasional welding and light electrical work may be required depending on the candidate’s ability. A strong maintenance/mechanical background and trouble-shooting aptitude is required. Attention to detail and the ability to work well with others in the department and operators in the production environment is required.
A variety of hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, vicegrips, chisel and scraper tools, etc.), A variety of pneumatic tools including impact wrenches, hand/palm sanders, grinders, drills, cutting tools, etc.) and specialized equipment and tools specific to the area and equipment being serviced including walk-behind fork truck, sit-down fork trucks, medium-duty cranes/hoists and pneumatic suction pads, cordless drills/drivers, welding equipment, etc. Depending on equipment and area assigned to, some knowledge and use of specialized diagnostic equipment may be required.
Physical Requirements:
Includes but is not limited to, prolonged periods of standing, working on a computer, bending, reaching, stretching, lifting, walking, twisting, squatting and kneeling. Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions. Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers, knees, back shoulders and neck. Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and the like.
