Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Standardize and resolve process issues to improve performance, communication and results while empowering teams
- Facilitate improvement events projects and activities to eliminate waste and add value for the customer. Utilize Lean problem solving and improvement tools as appropriate
- Active participation and leadership of capital planning; identification, justification and implementation.
- Lead and participate in Value Stream Mapping and process flow activity to identify waste and opportunity
- Manage projects with varying degrees of scope, inclusive of specifying, selecting, justifying and implementing capital equipment or enhancement of existing equipment
- Support business safety objectives by participating in safety programs, assessing ergonomic conditions and implementing improvement projects
- Support, lead and participate in cross-functional teams to problem-solve and implement solutions; facilitate team building
- Manage projects involving individuals from various departments to ensure integration between manufacturing, maintenance, sales, finance, engineering and product development
- Perform time studies and conduct process observations to develop/improve labor standards; develop associate work instructions and standard work
- Provide Industrial Engineering floor support to manufacturing on a day-to-day basis
- Work as a liaison between estimating, product design and manufacturing regarding design for manufacturability
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for manufacturing processes and equipment
- Develop, test, source and cost-justify various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods
- Analyze data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement
- Ability to use Microsoft Excel fluidly to create and manipulate data analysis tools such as pivot tables
- Provide input on and/or design tooling and facility requirements for manufacturing
- Assist in the implementation of the strategic manufacturing plan for all facilities to meet the company's business plan
- Effective and timely communication with the team and support areas to collaborate and achieve results
- Effective understanding and knowledge of equipment capabilities, capacities, and process options relative to role
- Develop and promote policies and procedures within the department
- Adhere to established Safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for all associates
- Adhere to established Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Undertake job responsibilities in a manner consistent with the company's Core Values
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field; and a minimum of four to seven years of related experience
- Strong project management and mechanical aptitude skills
- Team leadership and leading through influence skills
- Formal and informal problem-solving skills
- Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (advanced Excel user), AutoCAD or Solid Works
- Understand MRP/ERP systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
