POSITION SUMMARY
Supports Environmental Air/ Wastewater / Recycling / Hazardous Waste Departments & Activities in assigned cost center to effectively and safely abide by all regulatory requirements including RCRA, CERCLA, EPA, and DNR
Key Responsibilities
· Assist with Environmental record keeping and reporting requirements. Assists with audits / visits from all branches of EPA, DNR, DHS, DOT, etc.
· Prepares permit updates & renewals in a timely manner, correlating external resources when required.
· Prepares application of RCRA Contingency Plan, SWPPP & BMP Plan, & SPCC Plan, correlating external resources as required.
· Provides support for site visits / audits of facilities receiving EFCO waste or spent products.
· Assists with maintaining all quality standards, specifically regarding permit requirements. To accomplish this objective, continually educates all employees concerning the requirements contained within the permits and applicable regulations. Trains employees on the proper use of their equipment and processes, explaining to them the quality guidelines for their operation(s) and how their operation(s) fit into maintaining permit and regulatory compliance. Informs employees of problems found in audits and/or inspections. Additionally, conducts a proper follow-up on all customer complaints and instructs employees on proper inspection, containment, storage and disposal of waste.
· Supports activities within the Environmental department which include
o Compliance Databases and spreadsheet updates
o Periodic Compliance inspections
o Complete calculations for compliance purposes
o Have an understanding of permitting and plans for the Monett location.
· Supports and participates in Continuous Improvement events in relation to both cost and environmental/safety.
· Participates in AFS Continuous Improvement efforts by understanding his/her team's performance and actively implementing and supporting process improvements.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in related field or prior experience preferred.
· Wastewater License or the ability to acquire one preferred

- Wastewater
- universal waste
- hazardous materials shipments
- documentation
- storage
WORK ENVIRONMENT/TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- The work will be performed mostly in office environment with consistent daily visits to the manufacturing floor.
- The noise levels in the work environment are usually moderate.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Regularly required to sit or stand, reach, bend and move about the facility.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
