What are the responsibilities and job description for the Baseball Operations Internship position at Wausau Woodchucks?
The Wausau Woodchucks are seeking applicants that are interested in learning and working more on the baseball operations side of things, vs the business and marketing side.
We are seeking a candidate that is motivated and detail oriented to support our General Manager, Coaches, Players, and overall Clubhouse operations. This internship offers a great opportunity to work closely with players, coaches, and front office staff members.
Job Responsibilities:
- You will help with Northwoods League Contract paperwork for players, coaches, and staff to ensure readiness for Northwoods League Games
- Assist and ensure active rosters are sent in a timely matter to Northwoods League on a daily basics.
- Assist the coaching staff with in game and post-game statistical charting, including tracking player performance, pitch data, and other relevant metrics.
- Assist with checking players in and out of the clubhouse and managing player arrivals and departures for games and practices.
- Help Prepare and set up for practices and games, including lineups and equipment checks. Work with the front office and coaching staff to meet equipment needs and requests.
- Work with Field Manager, to coordinate and confirm Bus Travel as well as Rooming Lists for Overnight Hotel Stays.
- Assist with additional game-day responsibilities as needed, ensuring smooth execution of operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Must be a current college student (undergraduate or graduate)
- Requires ability to work flexible schedule including nights and weekends
- Comfortable interacting with all levels within organization as well as outside contacts
- Strong time management and attention to details
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Cooperation, responsiveness, dependability, and proper attitude in dealing with others including co-workers and customers

Annually drawing in more than 40,000 fans from all over the state of Wisconsin, the Woodchucks have a reputation of being a fun, family-friendly option for family and corporate entertainment in Central Wisconsin. The Woodchucks annually hire 15-20 interns. Former interns have gone on to work for the Minnesota Twins, Tennessee Titans, and many other minor league and collegiate league teams across the nation.
