What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Technician position at Wauseon Machine & Manufacturing, Inc.?
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections; receiving, 1st piece, in-process, final inspections, and reporting.
- Help develop sampling plans.
- Production line quality support activities.
- Assist in PPAPS, Control Plans, FEMA, Gage R&R as applicable.
- Ensure compliance and assist with adherence to the Quality Management System (ISO 9001).
- Liaise and communicate with other departments.
- Report quality anomalies to the supervisor and initiate non-conformance reports.
- Process returned material from customers as per company’s procedures.
- Internal gage calibration and auditing/sorting of parts as assigned.
- Daily, weekly, and monthly reports and other data entry as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma.
- Mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
- Experience using inspection tools such as: height stands, calipers, micrometers, thread gages, pin gages, etc.
- High level of visual awareness and attention to detail.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to read a basic blueprint.
- Knowledge of advanced measuring equipment (Microview, CMM) and GD&T (preferred).
