Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Wauseon Machine. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and proving out industrial equipment, including robotic automation cells and industrial machine tools.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and experience with 3D parametric solids modeling using Solidworks. You will work closely with customers to develop conceptual designs based on their requirements, provide technical support, and collaborate with various departments to create innovative automation solutions.
Responsibilities include leading and conducting design reviews, developing final project designs, creating documentation, and overseeing machine safety risk assessments. Additionally, you will conduct FMEA and safety risk assessments, support projects through manufacturing, assembly, and runoff, and update documentation for submission to customers.
We require a minimum of 5 years' experience designing industrial machine tools and/or automation, including robotic work cells. Proficiency in Solidworks 3D parametric solids modeling and PDM Professional is essential, as well as knowledge of Microsoft Office and Teams.
