WAUSHARA COUNTY POSITION DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Seasonal Park Maintenance
DEPARTMENT: Facilities and Parks Management
FUNCTION:
Under the general direction of the Parks Foreman, it is the responsibility of this position to perform unskilled and/or semi-skilled maintenance tasks at all Waushara County Park properties to provide a healthy, safe environment for the enjoyment of all park patrons.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Performs maintenance of County Park properties, such as mowing grass, string trimming, blowing of debris from walks and paths, brush removal, etc.
2. Performs maintenance of County facilities and equipment, such as playground maintenance, trash removal, restroom cleaning and maintenance, etc.
3. Assist other park staff with minor repairs to buildings and facilities to include plumbing, electrical and structural tasks.
4. Assist other park staff with maintenance tasks at County Fairgrounds property, such as set up and tear down of facilities for events including setting up barns for County Fair.
5. Perform routine maintenance to equipment and vehicles.
6. Drive County vehicles as assigned.
7. Assist other departments and staff during severe weather storms.
8. Other duties as assigned.
WORKING ELEMENTS
A. Education, Training and Experience
1. High school graduate, or equivalent
B. Knowledge, Ability and Skills
1. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions; ability to read, write and complete daily work forms.
2. Ability to work as individual as well as in a group setting.
3. Knowledge of working with hand tools, power tools, lawn care equipment
4. Ability to work weekends and holidays (on rotation)
5. Must possess and maintain a valid non probationary Wisconsin’s driver’s license.

D. Working Conditions
1. Primary outdoor work during summer months. May be required to work in adverse weather conditions.
2. Occasionally exposed to dusty, wet, damp, windy, and/or humid conditions.
3. Must be capable of lifting 60 lbs. maximum weight occasionally.
