We are currently looking to add an experienced Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to our team. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about supporting dental professionals in delivering top-tier care and has the skills to perform a range of expanded functions.
Position Overview :
As an EFDA, you will play a key role in assisting our dentists with advanced procedures, ensuring that patients have a positive experience from start to finish. Your responsibilities will include everything from preparing dental materials to performing expanded functions under the direction of our dentists. Work Schedule : (or some combination of these hours totaling 40)
- Monday : 7 : 00 AM - 3 : 00 PM
- Tuesday : 7 : 00 AM - 7 : 00 PM
- Thursday : 7 : 00 AM - 7 : 00 PM
- Friday : 7 : 00 AM - 3 : 00 PM
- Every Other Saturday : 9 : 00 AM - 3 : 00 PM
Key Responsibilities :
Assist the dentist during a wide range of dental procedures, including restorative and surgical treatments.Take impressions for crowns, bridges, dentures, and other dental appliances.Prepare and place dental materials (e.g., composites, sealants, and temporary fillings) as directed by the dentist.Place and remove rubber dams, as well as assist in the preparation of crowns and other restorations.Expose, process, and mount dental radiographs (X-rays) according to the dentist's instructions.Provide patient education and assist in post-operative care instructions.Ensure patient comfort throughout their procedures.Sterilize and prepare dental equipment, instruments, and work areas.Maintain accurate patient records and assist in updating patient treatment plans.Maintain inventory of dental supplies and ensure proper sterilization and safety procedures.Qualifications :
Current certification and expanded functions dental assistant training (EFDA certification) in the state of Georgia.Previous experience as a dental assistant or expanded functions dental assistant preferred.Ability to perform a variety of dental procedures with excellent technical skill and attention to detail.Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for providing excellent patient care.Ability to multitask, manage time efficiently, and work in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency with dental radiography and use of dental technology.Knowledge of sterilization and infection control protocols.Benefits :

Requirements
Education and Training
High School Diploma or equivalent.Minimum one-year related experience and / or training or the equivalent of a combination of education and experience in the dental profession.Valid X-ray certificate.Current license if CDA, RDA, or EFDA (per state requirements).CPR & first aid certificate.FLSA Status : Hourly, Non-Exempt
