Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated intern to join the discovery team in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This is an ideal position for an individual who is interested in learning cutting edge technologies and who thrives in a team-oriented, fast-paced, and cross-disciplinary biotech environment. The candidate will be responsible for designing, executing and analyzing experiments as a member of team focused on advancing therapeutic programs and discovery research platforms. The position will involve animal tissue handling, processing and analysis.
Responsibility:
- Perform biological sample or experimental animal tissue analysis, using molecular biology or histology methods.
- Analyze/process data, and report results to program teams.
- May involve method development or troubleshooting.
- Track or procure materials.
- Expect to work at bench most of time.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or a similar discipline. Must have completed at least one year of undergraduate education.
- Have taken Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology or related courses.
- Some laboratory experiences are required.
- Experiences with mammalian cell culture, RNA/DNA extraction, quantification, qPCR or NGS are a plus.
- Understanding concepts of pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics is desirable.
- Pay attention to details, have good organization skills.
- A strong work ethic and high-level motivation are required.
