Description

The Materials Coordinator is an active member of the Supply Chain Department. This function interacts with different disciplines: Materials Management, Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Logistics, Engineering and Facilities Management. 

The Materials Coordinator supports the day-to-day operations of the Supply Chain Department.   The ideal candidate will provide support for New Supplier requests, Part Number requests, and Vendor Change Notification processes in addition to Change Controls and other Quality Systems impacted by Supplier changes. 

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, finance, quality, supply chain and a minimum of 2 plus years’ experience in any of these fields
  • Experience with ERP systems is a plus
  • Experience using MS applications (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Project)

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining the master data of GMP items and Supplier information in the ERP system
  • Coordinates the creation, updates, and reviews of Raw Material Specifications for our cGMP Item Numbers
  • Supports the Part Number creation process including assistance obtaining documentation for the completion of Part Number requests, confirm lead times, unit of measure, and material classifications
  • Supports the Supplier creation process including requests for information from suppliers supporting the creation process
  • Support the process of master data maintenance in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to include, but not limited to, material number management (generating, updating and deactivating part numbers), supplier creation and changes, Bill of Materials, routings, MRP data and plant/Warehouse assignments
  • Support the Supplier Change Notification process including processing change notifications received, initial evaluation for impact to WAVE, scheduling and facilitating the change notification review meeting and management of assessments for impacted functional areas
  • Support the creation and management of Change Controls and other Quality Systems as needed
  • Responsible for maintaining updated Licenses and Permits: US Fish and Wildlife Import/Export License, CDC Import Permits, and Mass Controlled Substances Licenses. Responsible for initiating any additional licensing as required.
  • Prepare and maintain GMP documentation and files as needed
  • Acts as back-up to the Materials Manager as needed
  • Support the creation of training documentation and work instructions as needed

Key Skills

  • Sound understanding of Master Data, Inventory Management, Supply Chain and Procurement ERP modules 
  • Ability to work in Excel
  • Understanding of the Biopharmaceutical Industry and cGMP a plus
  • A strong attention to detail is required
  • Good Communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external teams at all levels 
  • Ability to work independently
