Description:

The Senior Lab Asset Specialist is responsible for planning and overseeing laboratory equipment maintenance and providing essential support to our research team by partnering with them to optimize processes, increase efficiency, and anticipate and solve problems. The successful candidate is highly organized, comfortable working onsite in a fast-paced environment, and an integral part of a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary team. Excellent communication, record-keeping, and teamwork will be critical.

Experience:

• 4 years of experience in laboratory operations desired; preferably in a biotech or pharmaceutical setting
• Associate or bachelor’s degree desired, experience may be considered in lieu of education

Responsibilities:     

• Responsible for lab equipment asset management and maintenance program, including budget tracking, contract establishment, vendor work scheduling and coordination, and documentation of vendor performed work
• Develop and maintain positive and professional working relationships with internal Wave lab teams, Wave peer support groups, and service vendors 
• Verify and update the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) with the most up-to-date asset and maintenance information in accordance with Wave procedures
• Schedule maintenance events with service vendors and laboratory end users
• Meet and escort vendor service engineers into the laboratory, ensuring a smooth transition into their work environment
• Obtain and review field service reports and invoices for financial accuracy, technical remediation procedures, and completeness
• Follow up on any unresolved lab equipment issues, creating appropriate work orders, requesting proposals, placing purchase requisitions, and coordinating follow-up work
• Support development of routine (e.g. quarterly) business review and development of action plans and tracking mechanisms to drive continuous improvement
• Adhere to Wave policies, procedures, and guidelines

Key Skills:

• Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
• Must be interactive and engaging with scientists and vendor service providers
• Physical Activity: Walking, sitting, standing, kneeling, couching, lifting, pushing (equipment / supply carts), PC work
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Regular travel between local Wave sites will be required, working in both office and biological & chemical laboratory environments
