ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Overall Function:
A hybrid position as needed. Responsible for all inventory management functions while coordinating with internal as well as external sources of the organization, along with maintaining the inventory system. Additionally, this position will assist in the procurement of tools and materials required for internal use by the company in addition to materials sold to other organizations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
o Coordinating inventory requirements and procurement details with vendors and customers.
o Making inventory budgets and maintaining the stock ratio of the organization.
o Supervising inventory cycle counting.
o Accounting and Reporting of inventory surplus, product returns, and any damages.
o Evaluating the cost movement of company products and assessing the purchase and invoice details.
o Advising on replenishment of stock in the warehouse and filling of order forms.
o Forecasting and estimating the potential stock requirements, based on demand and sales reports.
o Tracking the transportation and distribution of inventory.
o Maintaining and overseeing the records of all stocks and compiling evaluation reports.
o Conducting a periodic audit of inventory as determined and directed by the Supply Chain Director.
o Troubleshooting, rectifying and reporting inventory issues in a timely manner.
o Conducting cycle counts to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies.
o Identifying causes of issues and implementing process and improvements.
o Responsible for purchases made by organization.
o Evaluate and approve vendors and write/authorize purchase orders for goods or services.
o Familiar with the standard concepts, practices, and procedures within our organization.
o Engage directly with vendors of the required goods and equipment, negotiate best prices and ensure that purchased items are delivered in a timely manner.
o Responsible for the overall logistics coordination with Warehouse/Logistics Supervisor on deliveries to maritime customers.
o Responsible for processing unique purchasing transactions in accordance with the best interests of the company, including the research of various new vendors, evaluating products and solutions and choosing suitable seller.
o Identify and select vendors to procure highly technical commodities meeting criteria of price, quality, quantity, availability, and delivery dates.
o Analyze departmental purchase requisitions and documentation for completeness and accuracy of information. Responsible for performing special projects to improve process efficiency and performance.
o Crosstrain as back-up for other staff in case of emergencies.
o Responsible for inventory maintenance; track commodity usage and Inventory software and programs. Responsible for the implementation and updating of all inventory software programs. Interface with accounting in all aspects relating to inventory control, tracking and reporting.
o Keeping abreast of changes in purchasing and inventory control best practices in order to educate staff and issue policy changes under the direction of the Supply Chain Director.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
o Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite. Experience/knowledge with Inventory Management Software.
o Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment with departmental goals.
o Ability to exercise good judgment in decision making and to be creative in problem solving.
o Extremely detail-orientated, proactive and dependable
o Ability to shift priorities as well as maintain focus in a high-pressure environment.
o A modicum of experience directly related to the job requirements listed. A bachelor’s degree in material management, logistics, supply chain or any related field from an accredited institution is a plus.
o Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform the duties and responsibilities of this job, including heavy work. Ability to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment, as necessary. Valid motor vehicle operator's license. Proof of legality to work and reside in the United States of America.
Working conditions and physical effort:
Work involves exposure to unusual elements, such as high outdoor and warehouse temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. Requires handling of up to 75 pounds or standing and/or walking for more up to eight (8) hours per day. Required to frequently apply ability to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach overhead, and climb. Must not be challenged by working at heights up to 20 feet or in small spaces. These requirements will be very infrequent.
Waveguide Communications works primarily, but not exclusively, with materials and tools geared toward the European market. Base knowledge of metric units of measurement/foreign operating voltages/etc., and the ability to seamlessly shift to imperial equivalents in thought & application, is absolutely critical.
