Home and Community Based Services - Direct Support Professional

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role as a Direct Support Professional at The Wilson Family Caring Center, Inc located in Houston, TX. The Direct Support Professional will assist individuals with disabilities in daily living activities, provide emotional support, and promote independence for individuals in accordance with their individual care plans. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: providing daily assistance with personal hygiene, assisting with nutritional needs, providing transportation to appointments and social activities, and documenting client progress daily.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Experience in the caregiving field preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and perform physical tasks (i.e. bending, kneeling, etc.)
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
• Positive attitude and strong ethical standards
