Job Summary:
Assists the School Health Nurse in the performance of designated clinical and clerical duties. Responsible to the School Health Nurse.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Clerical skills competency
- Computer skills competency, health software and Power School a plus
- High level communication skills
- Certified in standard First Aid and CPR/AED
- Ability to accept supervision from the school nurse
- Ability and willingness to recognize the limitations of the school health assistant role
Responsibilities:
- Represents the Agency in a professional manner
- Prepares and maintains health offices, documentation, emails, updates etc.
- Must be computer literate; health software and Power School
- Assists the School Health Nurse with routine nursing care of students, as directed
- Assists the School Health Nurse in the administration of basic First Aid and acute medical emergencies, as directed
- Assists the School Health Nurse in health screening programs, as directed
- Assists the School Health Nurse with the preparation and maintenance of records, reports and other clerical duties
- Attends Agency staff meetings and participates in appropriate departmental committees
NOTE: Initial and ongoing assessment of this role may lead to the addition or deletion of responsibilities as they are identified or defined.
This role may be performed in addition to other role(s) by a single individual.
