Volunteer Coordinator
General Statement of Duties:
Responsible for the development, direction, and management of the Volunteer Program.
Qualifications and Experience:
Requires an individual with a background in a related field. Individual must have exceptional managerial, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Experience required in community or volunteer organizations. Must present one’s self well to the public, strong communication/listening skills and have the ability to work well with cross generational groups.
Develops, plans, provides supervision, task oversight, and programs for volunteers of Waveny LifeCare Network.
- Recruits, orients/trains and schedules volunteers providing adequate coverage for the Network. Ensures retention of volunteers to the best of one’s ability.
- Plans and provides formal orientation/in service programming for all volunteers utilizing staff, as necessary.
- Develops and motivates new volunteers to become effective, committed members of the volunteer team by assisting in the operation of the Network.
- Maintains close contact with volunteers and colleagues for disseminating information, and receiving input and feedback on work related issues.
- Maintains constant communication with the volunteers and develops an awareness of their individual needs.
- Coaches and counsels volunteers and takes appropriate disciplinary action when necessary.
- Maintains records of volunteer service hours and plans recognition programs.
- Consistently applies the appropriate Personnel Policies and Procedures.
- Develops, implements, and analyzes departmental goals, aligning them to the Waveny LifeCare Network’s organizational goals.
