Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our DermSpa team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office, providing support to both patients and healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with medical insurance and ability to help as a medical assistant. Pre-health/ gap year students preferred. One year or longer commitment required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage patient scheduling for appointments and follow-ups, ensuring efficient use of time and resources.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of patient care plans, ensuring all necessary documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Verify medical insurance and collect payments.
  • Handle incoming calls and inquiries with professionalism and courtesy, directing them to appropriate staff as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized office environment to enhance patient experience.
  • Room patients and take histories.
  • Assist with scribing notes.
  • Process specimens to the proper lab and follow up on results.
  • Assist with prior authorizations.
  • Support clinic operations by understanding and explaining the procedures offered to be able to coordinate with staff for seamless patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient information confidentiality.

Skills

  • Excellent 10 key typing skills for accurate data entry tasks.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all tasks performed.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated to complete individual responsibilities effectively.
  • Experience with EMR/ phlebotomy a plus.

Pay: $16.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
