Waverly Heights is currently seeking a full time Assistant Controller to assist in the management of general accounting functions of the finance department. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the organization's financial operations, and contributing to its overall financial health. This position involves analyzing financial accounts, managing reports, assisting in audits, and collaborating across departments to ensure smooth financial processes.
Responsibilities Include:
- Complete account analysis reports for various balance sheet and operating accounts, including monthly bank account reconciliations.
- Receive and record resident and health insurance payments in billing software accurately and timely into billing software.
- Prepare and post journal entries while assisting in month-end closing activities to ensure timely financial reporting.
- Coordinate and provide documentation and information as requested for internal and external audits.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and capital planning processes.
- Manage the monthly capital additions process, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Create, maintain, and distribute various financial and operational reports as assigned.
- Provide support for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and other Finance Department functions as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting with a minimum of 5 years of experience, MBA/CPA a plus.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, computerized accounting programs and general software including Microsoft products. Strong Excel skills a must.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- The ability to multi-task, manage time effectively, and maintain confidentiality while working with sensitive financial information.
- Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining financial records.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with a diverse group of residents, family members, and professional contacts
