What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Nursing Assistant - Per-Diem position at Waverly Heights?
Waverly Heights is currently seeking per-diem Certified Nursing Assistants to join our team. Waverly's CNAs play a pivotal role in the compassionate care and well-being of our residents. Our CNA's daily responsibilities include:
- helping with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote hygiene and comfort
- assisting residents with walking, transferring, and positioning to prevent bedsores and help maintain mobility and independence
- assisting residents at meals with eating and drinking ensuring they are following their dietary requirements
- regularly measuring and recording vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration and promptly reporting any concerns to the nursing team
- maintaining accurate and timely documentation of resident's care, observations, and changes in condition
- providing emotional support and companionship to residents, promoting social engagement and a sense of belonging
- ensuring a safe environment by keeping resident areas free from hazards and following infection control protocols
- positively interacting with resident families and promptly addressing any concerns
- continuing to learn and improve knowledge and skills by staying updated with training and certifications
- advocating for residents to ensure their needs are communicated and addressed with the care team
- following all guidelines related to confidentiality and HIPAA
- performing other duties to support the effective operations of the healthcare department
Our per diem CNAs are required to work a minimum of three shifts per month and at least one holiday per year. Pennsylvania Certified Nursing Assistant Certification is required. Our ideal candidate will have exceptional customer services skills, a positive attitude, work well in a team environment, and have the ability and willingness to learn.
