Summary:

The Director of Construction is a key leadership role responsible for the successful planning, execution, and delivery of fiber optic network infrastructure projects. This role will oversee all construction activities, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of fiber optic technology, construction methodologies, and project management principles, along with proven experience in managing large-scale telecommunications infrastructure projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning:
    • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and implement a comprehensive construction strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
    • Identify and evaluate potential residential areas for fiber optic network expansion.
    • Stay informed about industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements related to fiber optic network construction.
  • Project Management:
    • Oversee all aspects of fiber optic construction projects, from initiation to completion, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
    • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
    • Proactively identify and mitigate potential project risks and challenges.
    • Implement effective project tracking and reporting mechanisms to monitor progress and performance.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing construction team, including project managers, supervisors, and field personnel.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and safety within the construction team.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Contractor Management:
    • Identify, qualify, and select qualified contractors for various construction activities.
    • Negotiate and manage contracts with contractors, ensuring compliance with project specifications and company policies.
    • Monitor contractor performance, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including local government agencies, utility companies, community groups, and residents.
    • Effectively communicate project plans, timelines, and potential impacts to stakeholders.
    • Address stakeholder concerns and resolve conflicts in a timely and professional manner.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations and company policies.
    • Implement and enforce strict safety protocols across all construction sites.
    • Conduct regular safety training and inspections to promote a safe working environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7 years of experience in telecommunications construction, with a focus on fiber optic network deployment.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale construction projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Strong understanding of fiber optic technology, construction methodologies, and project management principles.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in using project management software and tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience working in the Seattle market.
  • Familiarity with local government regulations and permitting processe

Salary : $110,000 - $140,000
