Lead Product Researcher – hairstyling/beauty devices products

As we continue to expand our brand presence and reach new heights, we are looking for a Lead UX/product Researcher to drive user experience initiatives and consumer research efforts for our innovative electronics-based product lines.


Role Overview

This role will be instrumental in defining the strategic vision for our products, ensuring they meet business goals and consumer expectations. The ideal candidate will lead user research projects, influence cross-functional teams, and use data-driven insights to shape product innovation and brand strategy.

This position reports to the Senior Marketing Director and will collaborate closely with international product team to ensure the success of Freshine’s products in the U.S. market.


Responsibilities

Lead User-Centric Research Initiatives

Customer & User Research: Develop and execute user interviews, focus groups, surveys, and usability testing to uncover behaviors, preferences, and pain points.

Develop and improve the company's user research methodologies and processes to

enhance research capabilities and efficiency.

Data Synthesis: Analyze data from surveys, social listening, industry reports, and AI tools to generate actionable insights.

Design and execute usability tests to validate product designs, ensuring alignment with consumer expectations.

Deliverables: Build personas, journey maps, trend reports, and product recommendations.


Inject Consumer & Product Insights Across the Organization

  • Serve as the voice of the consumer, providing insights that shape brand strategy, communication, creative product design and product development.
  • Analyze and synthesize data from multiple sources, including surveys, interviews, usability testing, social listening, and industry reports, to uncover trends and opportunities.
  • Translate findings into impactful recommendations, presented through engaging storytelling and clear visuals.

Build and Disseminate Trend Reports

Track the latest trends and competitor dynamics in the beauty, personal care, and beauty device industries, providing forward-thinking recommendations for company strategy.

Gather industry intelligence, analyze competitors' product strategies, and propose

improvement plans.


Cross-Functional Influence & Leadership

Partner with international teams to ensure consumer insights inform global product development strategies.

Manage relationships with research vendors and stakeholders to ensure high-quality deliverables.


Innovation & Best Practices

  • Develop and implement best-in-class research methodologies, including ethnographic studies.

Create research standards and templates, train team members, and share best practices.


Who you are

We are looking for someone with a deep curiosity about human behavior, an ability to build strong consumer relationships, and a passion for transforming insights into action, has deep understanding of U.S. consumer behavior and cultural nuances.

Education:

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Psychology, Sociology, HCI, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Master’s/MBA or certifications in UX Research, Market Research, or User-Centered Design.


Experience:

5 years in UX research, with expertise in qualitative/quantitative methodologies (e.g., user interviews, focus groups, usability testing). including leveraging user research, KPIs, metrics, and optimization techniques to inform and validate design decisions.

Proven track record in applying insights to business strategies, including developing personas, journey maps, trend reports, and customer surveys to drive product and brand decisions.

Proven track record of leading user research and product incubation from 0 to 1.

Preferred candidates have experience at industry-leading companies (e.g., Apple, Amazon, Philips, Dyson), with additional preference for backgrounds in electronics, beauty devices, or personal care hardware industries.


Technical Skills:

  • Expertise in UX research tools (e.g., SurveyMonkey, UserTesting, Atlas.ti, SPSS).
  • Proficiency in AI-driven analytics tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Bard, Claude).
  • Strong analytical skills to synthesize data from surveys, social listening, and usability tests.
  • Familiarity with agile development, iterative design, and user-centered design principles.
  • Exceptional storytelling, presentation, and report-writing skills.

Language Skills:

  • Required: Native-level English proficiency (verbal/written).
  • Preferred: Proficiency in Chinese.

Salary: $90,000 - $100,000 annually*


Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental insurance options, PTO, Holidays.

This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses.
