ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Director of Sales and Marketing at Wawona is crucial for driving B2C and B2B marketing initiatives while aligning marketing with sales operations and annual planning. This role involves managing industrial sales, developing strategies for retail, food service, and K12 channels, and leading a team of brokers and direct sales professionals across the industrial, co-pack, and USDA channels.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of selling techniques and experience in leading sales and customer service teams, fostering collaboration with leadership and cross-functional teams. The Director will set ambitious goals, promote accountability, and enhance regional expertise, while also overseeing brokers and account managers throughout the sales process.
Customer-centric service will be a priority, focused on building strong relationships and efficiently managing administrative tasks. Using revenue forecasting and market intelligence, the Director will provide insights to leadership and facilitate regular sales meetings. This position will also support the professional development of team members. Additionally, the Director will work with the Marketing Manager to create effective resources for trade shows and sales initiatives, ensuring the necessary support to engage prospects and close deals. Responsibilities include managing new product development and leveraging key connections to drive growth, positioning Wawona Frozen Foods as a leading name in the industry.
DUTIES INCLUDE
- Work with executive leadership to develop the company's sales and marketing strategies. Develop and maintain Marketing and Sales Plans.
- Develop clear communication and understanding across Wawona regarding sales and customer service support needs across all brands, channels, and products.
- Provide Sales Forecasts to the Demand Planner. Assist in Demand Planning to consider industry, product and key customer trends and promotions.
- Provides direct sales leadership to all outside and inside sales activities
- Develops and monitors broker performance goal and contracts and develops annual review.
- Manage day to day sales and marketing activities to meet goals while operating within the budget.
- Track sales, marketing and customer service performance to established metrics and report out to the leadership team.
- Track and report sales performance to margin expectations.
- Execute sales and order fulfillment cross-functionally with supply chain and production operations teams.
- Develop tools to manage growth targets, sales goals, and profitability targets. Administrate the Wawona Frozen Foods Salesforce system.
- Acquire information regarding product pricing, and trends, summarize positioning with competitors and choices customers have. Make recommendations to the leadership team.
- Solicit, organize, and convey customer feedback regarding : new products to leadership. Manage new product lifecycle through marketing validation, business evaluation, development, testing, and plant floor scale-up.
- Research industry trends, lead analysis and decisions pertaining to expansion into new markets train and lead such expansions through the sales team.
- Business development : looking for opportunities for account managers and sales. Submit RFPs and RFQs that align with Wawona key products.
- Ensure the C / S and Order Administration functions fully support the needs of Supply Chain, Production, Accounting, Brokers, and Account Managers with quality and timely service.

Salary : $165,000 - $185,000
