ABOUT THIS ROLE

The Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing and overseeing the incoming inventory shipments, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of goods received. This role involves using various systems, including Business Central, for data entry and inventory tracking, managing truck weights and scale operations, and coordinating with relevant departments such as the accounting for timely receipts. The Receiving Clerk also ensures that all purchase orders, certificates, board reviews, and related documentation are accurate and processed in a timely manner. The role will work closely with internal departments and third parties to ensure accurate record keeping, reconciliation, data entry, and paperwork compliance processes supporting grower accounting and payment for materials, fresh, and equipment received.

DUTIES INCLUDE

Data Entry & Receiving

  • Enter relevant information into the Business Central system, ensuring accurate tracking of received goods, truck weights, and other pertinent details.
  • Maintain accurate records of incoming shipments, including inventory counts, product descriptions, and shipment information.
  • Verify and process weigh master certificates for each incoming shipment, ensuring that weights are accurate and aligned with records.
  • Ensure certificates are filed appropriately for future reference and audits.
  • Ensure purchase orders and paperwork match data in business central, notating any issues, discrepancies or issues with delivery.

Coordination with Cooling House

  • Communicate and coordinate with the cooling house to ensure proper paperwork is received prior to delivery.
  • Communicate with cooling house to resolve any discrepancies in quantity or weights.
  • Ensure timely transfer of goods to the cooling house or other departments as needed.

Quality Control & Documentation

  • Inspect incoming shipments for any damage or discrepancies in quality and quantity.
  • Prepare and maintain receiving reports, ensuring that discrepancies are communicated with the sourcing and accounting teams.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Currently enrolled in pursuing a degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Agricultural Business, or related field.
  • AA Degree in accounting, business, or related field.
  • Strong interest in agricultural finance, grower relationships, and/or agriculture management.
  • Basic understanding of purchase orders, receiving, accounting, and/or shipping.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other office software.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information timely with confidentiality and integrity.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot discrepancies.
  • Prior experience or coursework related to inventory management or receiving is a plus.
  • Bilingual in a plus.

  • This position will work out of our Alluvial location.

PHYSICAL AND/OR MENTAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

  • Work in an environment where there can be medium to loud noise and in cold temperatures.
  • Stand and walk, feel, reach with hands and arms. Occasionally requested to sit and talk or hear.
  • A fast-paced environment that requires high attention to details and minimal down time.
  • Occasional lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as equipment, machinery, etc. Lifting requirement: Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. independently.
  • Other duties as assigned requiring repetitive tasks, use of computer equipment, scheduling, preparing reports, etc. utilizing a computer.
  • Work flexible/varying schedules to support the team, customers, and deadlines.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision and ability to see all colors.
  • You will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme cold, and vibration. Exposure to cleaning products and agents for the sanitation of equipment and machinery regularly.
  • Wear appropriate personal protection equipment and adhere to dress code as outlined for working in a food manufacturing facility.
