Janitorial/Floor Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Floor Technician to join our team. This position is for one of our routes that consists of scrubbing and buffing floors, and performing janitorial tasks as per the SOP binder. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of various floor surfaces in commercial settings. This role requires a strong understanding of custodial practices, floor care techniques, and the ability to operate specialized cleaning equipment. The Floor Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all building occupants.

Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Floor Cleaning & Janitorial Technician to join our growing team. This position involves performing a variety of cleaning tasks, including floor care, general janitorial duties, and occasional light maintenance.

Duties:

• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of floors, including sweeping, mopping, buffing, and waxing.
• Operate floor care equipment such as buffers, scrubbers, and vacuums to achieve optimal results.
• Conduct carpet cleaning using appropriate methods and equipment to maintain cleanliness and appearance.
• Inspect floors regularly for damage or wear and report any issues to management.
• Ensure compliance with environmental services standards and safety regulations while performing all tasks.
• Maintain an organized inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Collaborate with other custodial staff to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Empty trash and recycling bins.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, breakrooms, and other common areas.
• Assist with light maintenance tasks as needed.
• Transport equipment and supplies using a company trailer.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in janitorial / custodial or commercial cleaning roles is preferred.
• Knowledge of floor care techniques, including buffing and carpet cleaning methods.
• Familiarity with janitorial services practices and safety protocols.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Ability to operate and back a trailer safely.
• Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs.
• Must be able to pass a pre employment drug test, and regular random drug tests as requested.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Possess a working smartphone for communication and scheduling.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical stamina to perform tasks that require standing, walking, lifting, and bending for extended periods.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with team members and building occupants.

Benefits:

• Competitive starting pay of $15.50 per hour.
• Potential for pay increase after a successful 90-day probationary period.
• Part-time schedule (16-40 hours per week) – primarily night shifts.
