Compensation:
- In accordance with California law, the expected salary range for this position is posted with this position. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
Role Summary
As a Controller, you will be pivotal in supporting children, youth, and families facing life’s toughest challenges. Whether you provide hands-on case management, help to develop life skills, or provide emotional support, your work will directly impact the lives of those we serve.

How you will Impact Change:
- Oversee and continuously improve the agency’s accounting processes and systems, fiscal policies, and procedures (including internal controls) to maximize performance, minimize risk, ensure regulatory compliance with GAAP, GASB, and GAAS, and optimize and align financial operations across the organization.
- Manage multiple bank accounts, cash, and credit card accounts, accounts payable, and general ledger to ensure effective delivery of routine financial services and operations of the agency.
- Assist the Vice President of Finance and Accounting and Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis with the development and maintenance of the agency’s annual operating budget and quarterly revisions, as needed.
- Serve as primary financial point of contact for auditors during the annual year-end audit and multiple government (federal, state, county) audits throughout the year.
- Manage annual 990 report development and other required legal and tax forms required of 501(c)3 organizations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field from an accredited college or university is required. A Master’s degree in a related field and/or CPA is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience at the supervisory level.
- Non-profit experience preferred.
- General audit and/or government audit experience is a plus.
- Experience with Financial Edge and NetSuite is a plus.
