Program and Role Summary
The primary focus of the Director of Therapeutic Shelter Homes, is to provide leadership, oversight, accountability, and direction for all designated therapeutic shelter homes and operational functions, including those related to direct service staff, resource family support, child and youth engagement, and behavior management by current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations. Under the direction and support of the Vice President of Clinical and Housing Services, this role will ensure that the highest quality client care and staff support is always maintained. This role involves developing and leading a therapeutic shelter homes program where staff support DCFS-approved resource families and children in care.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the development, oversight and maintenance of the department’s budget.
- Provide highly collaborative management, leadership and supervision within the TSH in collaboration with the Mental Health Services department that ensures high-quality services and adherence to all respective County and/or State contract obligations/requirements.
- Assist in determining departmental staffing and make recommendations to the VP, Clinical and Housing Services concerning wage and salary adjustments, hiring, terminations, transfers, etc.
- Draft and/or revise Program Statements, Performance Improvement Plans, Corrective Action Plans and any documentation needed for County contracts/funding (e.g., SOW, RFPs, etc.).
- Oversee and implement quality assurance systems which analyze and track provision of services, the completion of all relevant documentation within required timeframes, program budget areas, documentation practices, and adherence to regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Perform administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc. and submitting them to the Vice President of Clinical and Housing Services as required and assure that all daily documentation, incident reports, shift logs etc., are completed timely

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Must possess a minimum of a master’s degree in social sciences, child development, social work, psychology, etc., or an applicable degree with appropriate experience.
- Must possess and maintain current licensure in a mental health discipline, as recognized by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences or CA Board of Psychology.
- Must have at least four years of demonstrated leadership responsibility.
- 3 years’ experience working in child welfare or foster care system.
- Extensive knowledge of California Code of Regulations Title 22.
- Valid CA Driver License with a minimum of two (2) years good driving history and must be approved by the agency’s insurance carrier to drive agency vehicles OR Willingness and ability to make frequent field visits and attend meetings, conferences, and other job-related events away from headquarters. If driving a personal vehicle, must be approved by our agency’s automobile insurance carrier.

Salary : $110,000 - $115,000
