Offensive Coordinator Coach of Football
LOCATION: Wayland Baptist University (WBU) – Plainview Campus
OFFICE: Intercollegiate Athletics
SUPERVISED BY: Director of Athletics and Head Coach of Football
POSITION CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
POSITIONS SUPERVISED: Student mangers, Assistant Coaches and student/volunteer coaching personnel
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Offensive Coordinator Coach of Football is responsible for assisting with all aspects of the WBU Football program. Specifically, with Coordinating offensive schemes and practices.
SPECIFIC TASKS AND DUTIES:
- A commitment to a Christian lifestyle and coaching from a Christian perspective is essential.
- Coordinates the recruitment of student-athletes who have the ability and potential, athletically and academically, to achieve success at WBU. In that sense, the coach serves as a recruiting officer of the university, attracting students to participate in the programs.
- Assists in the planning, organizing and supervision of the WBU Football program.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures of the NAIA, the Sooner Athletic Conference and WBU.
- Arrange for the use of facilities and vehicles through the Athletic Director, Executive Director of
- Property Management and the Head Football Coach.
- Assists with the management of facilities and maintenance issues, to include equipment and facility upkeep and student workers.
- Responsible for assisting with all work study participants, budgets and paperwork associated with the work study program.
- Responsible for assisting with the implementation and adherence of strength and conditioning program, to include: tracking of our athletes’ progress in the weight room and all of the following aspects of a successful strength and conditioning program: Agility, Endurance, Power, Strength and Mental Toughness, In-season and off-season programs as well as position specific programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise & Sport Science or closely related field is required.
- Master’s Degree in EXSS or closely related field is preferred.
Experience and Knowledge:
- Knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the game of football.
- Knowledge of athletic recruitment and techniques.
- Knowledge of NAIA and SAC regulations and guidelines governing the recruitment and retention of student-athletes.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to lead and guide student-athletes in their areas of specialty.
- Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a university environment.
- Possess good PC skills and experience in word processing, spreadsheet and database experience.
- Be able to communicate with the team in practice and competition.
- Possess written and oral communication skills and be able to communicate with a variety of constituents.
Working Conditions:
- Work involves standing and walking with considerable exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises.
- Moderate physical activity. Requires handling average weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and walking for more than four hours per day.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Employment is subject to an introductory period to monitor employee performance. If hired, the prospective employee must present documentation within three (3) days of hire date to establish their identity and employment eligibility as required by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Employee must be able and willing to travel. Must be able to operate a licensed motor vehicle and possess a valid state driver’s license or have access to reliable transportation. Must have and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record.
