The BASE program seeks enthusiastic individuals to bring their talents and passion to our vibrant Preschool through the Grade 5 after school program. This is a fantastic opportunity to engage in fun, recreational, and dynamic activities in a fast-paced environment at Wayland Public Schools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead engaging recreational activities for Preschool or Kindergarten through Grade 5 children.
- Facilitate various activities, including arts and crafts, gym games, music and movement, drama, literacy, and science.
- Track student attendance and monitor academic progress, providing support where needed.
- Support other team members in ensuring a safe, productive, and efficient program for staff and students.
- Create incident reports as necessary and follow up accordingly.
- Design and facilitate high-quality enrichment activities that inspire student engagement.
- Motivate students to set and achieve ambitious academic and personal goals.
- Communicate effectively with families, colleagues, and school staff to support student growth and hold students to high standards.
- Provide opportunities for students to strengthen the connection between academic success, college readiness, and future careers.
- Foster and reinforce a culture of achievement, celebrating student successes.
- Build strong relationships with students, families, volunteers, peers, and the school community.
- Support logistics for program-related events and initiatives.
- Facilitate students' success in inclusion programming, ensuring all students feel supported and valued.
- Attend monthly meetings and quarterly professional development sessions to continue growing in the role.
Hours:
- Flexible schedules are available from 2:00 PM (1:00 PM on Wednesdays) to 5:00 PM or 6:00 pm, 2-5 days per week.
- We also welcome applicants interested in substitute positions.
Pay Rate:
- Competitive pay: $24.53 to $30.53 per hour, depending on experience.
