Our cars may be autonomous, but Waymo's finances are steered by experts like you. The Finance and Accounting group manages all aspects of our finances and serves as trusted advisors for all our strategic and enterprise endeavors. Along with managing compilation of our financial statements, looking after our cash and overseeing compliance, we partner with the business in overseeing company wide resource allocation, developing the latest compensation programs and generating detailed financial analyses to drive the business forward. We also develop advanced capital strategies to support our short- and long-term future.
You will report directly to our Chief Financial Officer.
You will:
- Partner with leadership across all Waymo functions (Product, Engineering, Operations, and Manufacturing through to Go To Market and G&A) on revenue growth, resource and cost allocation, investment and spend management, informing strategic decisions and revenue / spend optimization projects and partnerships.
- Lead all aspects of budgeting (including Long Term and Strategic planning), forecasting, and monthly management reporting processes and analysis. Partner with the business and other Finance teams to ensure the efficient resource allocation and go-to-market activities, with an emphasis on risk management
- Lead the strategic P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow models for the Waymo business, collaborating with business and finance partners to reflect business strategy and ensure appropriate visibility and oversight for important Waymo and Alphabet partners, including advising C-level team.
- Develop rigorous and complex tools and business assets to measure our results, important success metrics and financial performance, using core systems infrastructure.
- Develop relationships across Alphabet Finance functions and Waymo partners (Eng, Product, HR, Legal etc). Collaborate with Waymo Corp Dev, Treasury, IR, Legal and Alphabet functions.
- Oversee a people development agenda, including developing critical competencies, building a Business Finance team that partners across the business and Alphabet, while promoting leadership development and facilitating functional and technical skill building.
You have:
- MBA/MA and BA/BS degree, in a quantitative field, CPA
- 15 years of business experience including 10 years of finance or strategy consulting experience and experience leading an FP&A function, preferably Corporate FP&A
- Outstanding track record in planning and managing at both the strategic and operational level - organized,, hands-on, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment
- Expertise and ability to structure and communicate finance data for business consideration and decision making at both the executive and working team levels
- Experience communicating analytical findings for a range of different audiences including significant experience at C-level communications and support
We prefer:
- Automotive or ride share industry experience a definite advantage
- Experience developing successful Finance teams, including building a business from R&D stage to mature operating company
- A experience of the end to end financial operations of a manufacturing / supply chain oriented business unit in a large global organization and the ability to meet demanding financial goals
- Be able to code and use AI to increase productivity and level of analysis
- First-hand experience in (1) private company fundraising, including due diligence, and (2) 409a valuation process
The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Waymo employees are also eligible to participate in Waymo's discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and generous Company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.
Salary : $320,000 - $405,000
