Waymo's Systems Engineering team works together to blend software and hardware systems in groundbreaking new ways. We set the high performance standards that ensure our vehicles run smoothly and keep passengers safe, then design and perform the tests that validate that performance. This is a hybrid role, reporting to a Systems Engineering Manager
You will :
- Write, own and manage a set of system requirements needed to implement our high level vehicle platform security strategy, including security requirements for our OEM partners based on guidance from the Waymo security team, working with the OEMs and Functional Systems Engineers (e.g. Power, Infotainment, Thermal, Body Controls, Motion Controls) to define the network security architecture. Also including requirements for vehicle platform features which are based on security concepts (eg : Digital Key and SOTA), as well as requirements for physical tamper prevention and detection.
- Write detailed security requirements for Waymo software adjacencies to implement secure communication interfaces to the vehicle platform
- Help create Verification and Validation (V&V) plans, analyze test results for platform security across various platforms and prototype phases. You will plan, define and execute tests, analyze test data, analyze field issues, and understand and resolve defects leveraging the operations team where possible.
- Manage delivery timing of feature sets and updates to vehicle prototype fleet software and troubleshooting issues to achieve the required capability set for each vehicle

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
