Staff Accountant

Wayne Automatic Fire Sprinklers is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our team in the Ocoee FL branch. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, particularly related to the construction industry. This individual will assist with financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, job costing, and other accounting tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger accounts.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial accounts.
• Maintain accurate job costing records, including tracking expenses, labor costs, and overhead allocations for ongoing projects.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in the preparation for audits, providing documentation and resolving inquiries.
• Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions to ensure accuracy.
• Provide support to the accounting team as needed.

Qualifications

What are the Qualifications for this position?

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 2-3 years of accounting experience in the construction or service industry preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Sage Intacct is a plus.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and pre-employment background check screening including 10 years of employment verification is required to be hired at Wayne Automatic.
