Primary Purpose
Provide instruction in area of concentration, assist in advisement and registration, participate in the planning process, and take part in marketing and public relations.
Position Duties
Instructional duties include teaching day or evening classes, on-site courses, hybrid courses, and / or online courses. The instructor will teach or lead the teaching of art history, art appreciation and studio art courses. Along with classroom duties, the instructor will be expected to submit reports, maintain student evaluation records, participate in fine arts programs and curriculum development, revision, implementation, and evaluation; and performing all other duties as assigned by the Department Chair and / or Dean.
Position Requirements
A Master's degree in Art or a Master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Art from a regionally accredited institution is required. Three or more years of experience teaching at the post-secondary level is preferred. Candidates must submit a portfolio of personal artwork and examples demonstrating their teaching art to another person within the last three years. Candidates must be able to teach online and on-site. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products, excellent oral and written communication skills, being a self-starter and team player, and the ability to work collaboratively with others are required. Experience working with a diverse population is preferred. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
