What are the responsibilities and job description for the Internal Auditor position at Wayne County Airport Authority?
A Brief Overview
Under supervision, the Internal Auditor conducts financial, operational, compliance and/or information technology professional internal auditing work in accordance with the International Standards for the Professional practice of Internal Auditing.
The Internal Auditor also provides consulting services to Authority Management and staff and provides input regarding the development of the annual audit plan.
Annual Compensation ($USD): 68,000 - 91,000 paid on a bi-weekly basis.

What you will do
- Supports development of risk-based audit plan through internal discussions following risk interviews and business environment changes, including assessment of new initiatives and associated impact on operations, systems, etc.
- Perform or assist with observations and walk-throughs, document examinations, analytical reviews, reconciliations and other procedures sufficient to formulate and express an opinion, render a conclusion, or otherwise meet the objectives of the engagement.
- Identifies and defines issues, determines causes, Identifies and defines issues and designs recommendations to mitigate risk.
- Deliver audit findings to Authority Management.
- Conform to professional audit standards, consider best practices on all audit activities.
- Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field from an accredited college or university. MBA preferred
- 2 or more years of recent, full time auditing experience in either an internal auditing or public accounting environment
- 1 or more years of project management experience
- Proficient with Office Suite Software (Core - Email, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Presentation)
- Proficient with audit/project management, accounting/finance, data analysis or visualization
- Certified Internal Auditor or currently appearing for such certification, or
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or currently appearing for such certification
