Position Description
The Eligibility Referral Supervisor directly supervises Eligibility Referral Specialists and Unit Support Workers.
The Eligibility Referral Supervisor is part of the Income Maintenance Leadership Team at Wayne County Department of Job and Family Services.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Completes and Forwards reports, forms, and case files concerning the Eligibility Referral Unit. Writes Correspondence and maintains files and compiles statistical reports and submits as required.
Determines need for new staff, interviews applicants and makes recommendations for hiring of new employees.
Administrative Duties
Trains new and current employees. Reviews, approves, or denies employee request for leave. Assigns and reviews subordinates’ work. Completes performance evaluations of subordinates’ work. Provides coverage for other members of management in their absence. Disseminates information to subordinates or other staff.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Five years’ experience in a leadership role with progressively accountable duties. Previous supervisory experience of direct reports preferred. Strong, demonstrated customer service experience required. Demonstrated experience working with wide range of clientele strongly preferred.
