What are the responsibilities and job description for the PROJECT CONSULTANT position at Wayne County Government?
SCOPE:
The Economic Development department is looking for a project consultant to support to Fleet Electrification Work Group: analysis and benchmarking as directed to support the workgroup in establishing goals for the County's fleet, to benchmark and research to support the Decarbonization Program in developing an internal road map for Countywide EV infrastructure and to develop monthly utility reporting protocol for the County's Energy Data Management Dashboard System and monthly/quarterly reporting protocol.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
FLEET
•Research, benchmark, and document fleet-related decarbonization practices and policies in other communities to support internal consensus-building and decision-making
•Work with existing countywide data to model multiple approaches to fleet diversification
•Other support as requested to mobilize the Fleet Decarbonization Planning (internal) Work Group
DATA COLLECTION AND REPORTING
•Assist with data collection and reporting to establish consistent and replicable workflows to track energy, water, and fuel usage.
•Create a scalable system to import energy data into County's Energy Data Management Dashboard System
•Review Energy Bills data for entry into Energy tracking database
•Ensure shareable energy usage reports for Division, Department, County and Community visibility.
•Additional support and analysis as requested to the County's Facilities Work Group
ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES
•Preparing reports and documenting project activities and data.
•Preparing communication materials for project participants.
•Meeting with project participants in conjunction with Project Manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Two (2) years of experience in at least one of the following: data collection, analysis, data management, data reporting, project management, or developing reports and presentations for projects
•Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams
•Demonstrated interest in sustainability, decarbonization, facilities, fleet planning, and / or electric vehicles are a plus.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:
High school diploma with two (2) years of experience in at least one of the following: data collection, analysis, data management, data reporting, project management, or developing reports and presentations for projects.
