The Wayne County Schools Career Center is accepting applications for the
position of:
Custodian
STARTING DATE: TBD
SALARY: Appropriate step on the classified salary schedule
REPORTS TO: Sean Havalotti, Maintenance Manager.
WORK WEEK/YEAR: Monday – Friday, 8 hours per day with a paid 30 minute lunch. This position is third shift.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: BCI and FBI criminal records results less than one-year old must be submitted prior to initial employment and as required thereafter.
BASIC FUNCTIONS: To provide students and staff with a safe, attractive, comfortable, orderly, and clean educational environment.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
To provide students and staff with a safe, attractive, comfortable, orderly, and clean educational environment. Minimum of a high school diploma, GED or proof of graduation. Knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in commercial custodial work. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and 15-30 pounds regularly and push/pull at least 75 pounds. Ability to stand and walk, bend at the waist, twist and turn for extended periods. Must be able to set up and work safely on a lightweight 10 foot ladder. Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions. Ability to interact effectively with students, staff and the public.

WCSCC is a public high school that provides career-technical training and academic courses for high school students, grades 11 and 12. In addition, the Adult Education Center offers training and educational opportunities for adults.
