REQUIREMENTS : State of Michigan Teaching Certification LQ Endorsement
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate
- Bachelor's degree including all courses to meet credential requirements.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Evidence of ability to establish positive working relationships with all stakeholders.
- A passionate commitment to improving learning for all students
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (May include but not be limited to) :
Exhibits a commitment to the District's Shared Visions of High-Quality InstructionCreates a welcoming and positive classroom climate and cultureDevelops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each studentTranslates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instructionExhibits an understanding of creative development and essential practices of art education for elementary students and articulates and utilizes research based instructional strategies and methods appropriate for various grade levelsEstablishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve an effective learning atmosphere in the classroomEvaluates students' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares report cards and other necessary documentation to report student growth and achievementMaintains student classroom records using current district technology and expectationsCommunicates regularly with parents through conferences and other means to discuss curriculum, assessments, and student progressIdentifies student needs and collaborates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students address social, emotional and academic issuesCreates an effective and welcoming environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, instructional materials, bulletin boards, and websitesMaintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the district and self- selected professional growth activitiesUtilizes age and content appropriate aids; maintains required inventory recordsProvides supervision and oversight to students throughout assigned work dayParticipates in school improvement initiatives at the school level, committees and collaborative learning teamsExecutes other duties as assigned by building administratorSALARY : Per the HFT Teacher Contract
