Job Summary :
The role of the assistant boys track coach is to support the head coach in all aspects of the boys track program. The position is responsible for coaching and providing direction to student-athletes within the program. Position begins March 10, 2025.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Qualifications :
- CPR / First Aid Certified
- Working knowledge of all MHSAA rules and regulations in regards to track; including off-season work out parameters
- Previous high school coaching preferred
- Demonstrates the ability to work with students, parents and the community on fostering a positive environment for our student athletes
- Supports teaching staff in a way that promotes the Garden City Public Schools
- Proven positive role model regarding dress, appropriate use of language and appropriate physical contact
- Excellent oral and written communication preferred
- Ability to perform all duties with awareness of all district and school board policy
- Ability to write proper end of season summaries
- Promote academics as a major part of the program
- Work closely with the Athletic Department in the scheduling of practices / games
