Position Overview :

The Middle School Success Coach plays a pivotal role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional growth of middle school students. This position involves providing guidance, mentorship, and resources to students to help them navigate the challenges of middle school and develop the skills necessary for success in both their current education and future endeavors.

Responsibilities :

Student Support and Mentorship :

Build positive and trusting relationships with middle school students, fostering a safe and supportive environment.

Provide individual and group mentorship sessions to address academic, social, and emotional challenges.

Assist students in setting achievable goals and creating action plans to reach those goals.

Offer guidance on time management, organization, study skills, and effective communication.

Academic Assistance :

Identify students who may be struggling academically and collaborate with teachers and parents to develop tailored support plans.

Provide tutoring and homework help in various subjects as needed.

Monitor student progress and adapt strategies to address specific learning needs.

Emotional and Social Support :

Offer a listening ear and provide a safe space for students to express their concerns, fears, and aspirations.

Implement strategies to enhance students' social skills, conflict resolution abilities, and self-confidence.

Address issues such as bullying, peer pressure, and self-esteem through open discussions and guidance.

Life Skills Development :

Teach essential life skills such as problem-solving, decision-making, goal-setting, and resilience.

Organize workshops or activities that focus on building skills related to communication, teamwork, and leadership.

Parent and Guardian Communication :

Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree (preferred) in education, counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field.

Experience working with middle school students in an educational or mentoring capacity.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting young adolescents.

Knowledge of adolescent development, learning styles, and educational psychology.

Ability to adapt to diverse student needs and tailor strategies accordingly.
