Customer Service Representative with Emphasis on Billing
The Wayne County Water & Sewer Authority is currently accepting applications for a full-time Customer Service Representative with emphasis on Billing at our main office located at 3377 Daansen Rd in Walworth.
Applicants should be customer service-oriented with good communication skills and have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel. Prior experience with municipal billing and collections is highly desired; experience with general accounting and answering a multi-line phone system would be considered a plus.
Job Duties include:
- General customer service responsibilities such as answering incoming phone calls, assisting customers, and recording customer information within our customer service database
- Preparing monthly and quarterly bills for water and sewer customers
- Preparing notices including final bills, past due notifications, and service termination notifications
- Processing new or cancelled accounts, meter changes, or other similar utility billing activities as required
- Responding to staff and customer queries regarding billings, meter readings, and other customer service issues
- Researching, interpreting, and analyzing account history to resolve billing questions
- Engaging with customers in a friendly and professional manner while actively listening to their concerns; offering support and solutions in accordance with company customer service policies.
- Collaborating with management team to stay updated on current events, services, and policies.
- Other duties as requested
Salary range commensurate with experience plus an attractive benefits package is available.
