Office Clerk- Full-Time position available in Tax Claim/Tax Services for Wayne County
- Full- Time
- 40 hours per week
-Work Schedule- 8:00am to 4:30pm with 1/2 hour lunch. Monday through Friday.
- Employee works under the direction of the Tax Claim Director. Daily activities include: date entry, payment receipt and posting, answering phones, filing and scanning. Must have good interpersonal skills, experience working with public and working in an office setting. Computer skills and attention to detail is a necessity.
- Tax Claim Office collects delinquent taxes and prepares property for various sale processes based on delinquency. All taxes for County/Township and School taxes are returned to our office, which are not paid to the tax collectors within the current year.
Requirements:
- High School graduate or equivalency diploma
- Preferred experience in an office setting to include phone skills, counter service, scheduling and receipting of payments.
- Typing skills and knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Outlook helpful.
- Must be flexible and have a personable demeanor. Position involves public interaction and may sometimes involve difficult/complex situations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $12.00 - $15.05 per hour
